Pene is 6 days old today and we feel like we are in a constant state of awe and learning.
Things I've learned:
- postpartum = fog
- fat nurses are nice and skinny ones are mean
- no one getting less than 4 hours of sleep should be allowed to drive
- driving becomes petrifying with an infant in the car
- bibs are there for a reason! (helps with the pool of milk that forms under her chin)
- onesies or anything going over the head of an infant is from the devil
- grandparents can be just as emotional as new parents
- crying several times a day is normal (for all of us)
- not sleeping while you are in the hospital is not because of the baby, it's the revolving door of hospital staff that come in every time you start to doze off
- the rocking chair has become our second bed
- you could stare for hours at the face of your newborn
- there's lots of other things I wanted to share but can't think of them because of the afore mentioned fog :)
- God's gift of life and grace leaves you speechless
