Things I've learned

Pene is 6 days old today and we feel like we are in a constant state of awe and learning.

Things I've learned:

  • postpartum = fog
  • fat nurses are nice and skinny ones are mean
  • no one getting less than 4 hours of sleep should be allowed to drive
  • driving becomes petrifying with an infant in the car
  • bibs are there for a reason! (helps with the pool of milk that forms under her chin)
  • onesies or anything going over the head of an infant is from the devil
  • grandparents can be just as emotional as new parents
  • crying several times a day is normal (for all of us)
  • not sleeping while you are in the hospital is not because of the baby, it's the revolving door of hospital staff that come in every time you start to doze off
  • the rocking chair has become our second bed
  • you could stare for hours at the face of your newborn
  • there's lots of other things I wanted to share but can't think of them because of the afore mentioned fog :)
  • God's gift of life and grace leaves you speechless

May we introduce....

Miss Penelope Laine Weaver

Born, July 17th 2009 at 9:59pm weighing in at 6lbs 10 oz and 19.5 in. She's beautiful, healthy and I appreciate her not keeping me in labor too long. :)

We left Piedmont today to a clean house, stocked groceries and we even had balloons on the mailbox thanks to both new Grandmothers and Grandfather!

We are so blessed and completely in love!

3 years, 2 dogs and a baby

Brian and I celebrated 3 years of marriage June 17th! We took time away from work to celebrate.
We swam, ate mini wedding cake (cool idea from Publix!), went out to eat and had a blast!

Il finito

Remember this??? .....
It's our hall closet that backed into a "master" half bath.
Well, Brian tore down the walls and now we have this!

Ta -da! A guest full bathroom!

... of course, no sooner have we finished this, than we are on to the next project.
Transforming our former hall bath/laundry area (it was built in the 70's, people) to a Master walk-in closet/bath.

We took away the former master closet's accordian doors... and added a real one....

Walled up the former hall entrance and stacked our washer and dryer ... so once you walk through the new door, you're in the new walk-in closet (and how convenient to have a washer/dryer where the clothes are!)

There's tile on the floor and we'll have a new vanity to replace the pedestal sink....

and we have a new tub w/jets! I'm going to love living here!

Plus, we're doing everything as "green" as we can (water and energy saving stuff), not to mention the new plumbing that Brian and his dad have replaced.

It's not finished yet, but I can't wait to show off the pictures when it is!
That Brian Weaver is quite the catch. ;-)

Happy Birthday, Savannah!

Wow, we're really bad about updating our blog...

Anyway, today is our sweet puppy's b-day. She'll be the big 6. She's the absolute sweetest and laziest dog in the world and we love her. Happy Birthday, sweet girl!
